The SourceBold team had the privilege to attend the inaugural StartSLC conference last week. The conference was a 3-day festival connecting startup companies, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and the technology community. In total there were 66 different break-out events and more than 4,000 people attended.

As a company, SourceBold was excited to attend first because we are startup ourselves and love to learn how to improve our internal business, and second because our service of connecting Utah companies with overseas developers is especially appealing to cash-strapped startups.

We were impressed by the strong showing at the event. Utah truly boasts a great wealth of information, support, and a strong community of like-minded entrepreneurial individuals. StartSLC did a great job encompassing all of these within their event. They had speakers from some of the most successful Utah startups, including the CEO of Qualtrics, Ryan Smith, the CEO of Zenefits, Parker Conrad, and many others. These are just a couple, but all of the speakers had great insights into their industry, recommendations, and knowledge to share. StartSLC also had simultaneous event areas where you could talk with founders of Kickstarter campaign funded companies, pitch competitions, networking areas, and a hackathon competition around big data.

If you were not able to attend this event, we highly recommend that you check out some of the other upcoming local startup and entrepreneur events. 1 Million Cups and UVEF meet regularly and are both focused around the startup community in Utah County.  In Salt Lake SLC Tech Startups and the Salt Lake Chapter of 1 Million Cups meets. Plus you should also consider checking out Launchup Provo, Boom Startup’s events, and StartUp Grind.

We hope to meet you in person at these upcoming events.
